In recent years, we have received an increasing number of inquiries about creating stickers with eco-friendly materials. Naturally, various manufacturers of tack paper have responded to this trend by releasing various products.

The truth is, eco-friendly special materials are not cheap. We also want to encourage the creation of stickers with environmentally considerate materials as much as possible. Therefore, we will introduce eco-friendly sticker materials from our standard lineup as a reference.

High-cost Eco-friendly Materials

In the past, we have introduced products such as Eco Marine Tac, made from easily biodegradable biomass materials, materials with 80% recycled PET and biomass adhesive, and LIMEX, made from limestone. While these are all excellent materials that we wanted to use more and more, they are quite expensive.

Moreover, the minimum order quantities are high, forcing us to purchase more than needed and increasing inventory. Economically and environmentally, this is not ideal. Manufacturing costs might be high, and it is still not truly environmentally friendly.

In reality, the unit price of stickers using eco-friendly materials released by manufacturers these days is high, resulting in a low order rate. Such materials are unsuitable for the food industry, which requires low unit prices. We are struggling to meet customer expectations in this regard.

In such cases, we recommend ordering from our standard lineup. These materials are affordable and can be ordered in the necessary quantities. Therefore, choosing from our standard lineup can be more beneficial than using high-cost eco-friendly materials recommended by manufacturers.

We would like to introduce tack paper from our standard lineup that has a low environmental impact.

No Need to Insist on High-cost Eco-friendly Materials

Is it necessary to use expensive eco-friendly materials? Stickers are small in volume, with very thin thickness and limited area. Perhaps other measures, such as reducing container thickness or minimizing excessive packaging, would be more effective in being environmentally considerate.

There is a complex dilemma with recycled materials.

Creating recycled materials involves collecting, sorting, and processing waste. These processes require energy and resources, and during these processes, carbon dioxide emissions and other environmental impacts occur.

• Energy Consumption: Recycling waste requires a large amount of energy. Especially for metals and plastics, high-temperature processing is required, and if the energy source is fossil fuels, CO2 is emitted during the process.
• Transport Costs: Collecting waste and transporting recycled materials requires trucks and ships, which also impact the environment.

While common sticker materials may have an environmental impact during manufacturing, they have lower energy consumption and transportation costs.

For these reasons, standard materials may be more cost-effective. Let us introduce eco-friendly materials from our standard lineup.

Introducing Paper Materials

Paper materials are more environmentally friendly compared to film. Stickers are broadly categorized into "paper" and "film."

High-quality Paper

Art Coated Paper

Mirror Coated Paper

The standard paper materials for tack paper are high-quality paper, art coated paper, and mirror coated paper. While paper materials are less durable compared to film, they are sufficient for indoor use. If paper materials are sufficient, there may be no need to use high-cost eco-friendly film materials. Additionally, while paper materials can be difficult to remove, they come off cleanly with low-adhesive types.

Using paper, which eventually decomposes, is more environmentally friendly than PET, which can last indefinitely.

Introducing Film Materials

For use in wet areas or outdoors, durable film materials are necessary. We will introduce eco-friendly films from our standard lineup.

Foamed White PET

This material contains fine air bubbles that increase thickness, reducing raw material usage by about 21% compared to other synthetic papers.

Yupo 80μ

This is the most popular material among films due to its high versatility. It is actually a synthetic paper containing biomass resin. Compared to general synthetic paper, it reduces CO2 emissions by 8%. Since it can be purchased in the required quantity, it is economically friendly as well. We recommend Yupo.

Summary of Eco-friendly Sticker Materials: Standard Products

If you want to use environmentally friendly materials for sticker production but cannot afford the budget, Maruwu Adhesive's standard products might be a good option. For paper materials, we recommend "High-quality," "Art," and "Mirror," and for films, "Yupo 80μ" and "Foamed White PET."
