Double-Sided Printed Label: Perfect for Enhancing Product Visibility
Double-Sided Printed Label
Today, we introduce double-sided printed labels, which are printed on both the front and adhesive sides.
Before diving into the main topic, let’s discuss design briefly.
For example, suppose your company releases a product using transparent bottle containers. Besides the quality of the contents, the bottle design significantly influences the product’s sales. The role of labels on the product is to make consumers think, "I want this!"
Neglecting the appearance can prevent the product from reaching consumers, regardless of the effort invested in its creation. In this era of abundance, it’s crucial to capture the consumer's attention at a glance. Our company proposes product labels that make consumers stop and look, explained through practical examples.
This time, we focus on double-sided printed labels. We hope you find valuable insights for creating effective product labels.

Unlike regular labels, which are printed only on the front, double-sided printed labels are printed on both the front and the adhesive side. The adhesive side refers to the back of the label.
First, take a look at the image below.
This is the double-sided printed label we are introducing. This specification, where the adhesive side is also printed, is suitable only for transparent substrates. When viewed from the back, the design on the back of the label can be seen.
This means it can be used on transparent bottle containers or windows. It is commonly used overseas on mineral water bottles and cosmetic bottles.
Production Method
There are various production methods, but here we explain the general method used in the label printing industry. First, reverse printing (printing with a reversed design plate) is done on transparent material, then white material is laminated onto it, and further printing is applied to complete the double-sided label.
It can be produced if the adhesive side is transparent and the front side is white. This is a simple technique that can be executed by any label printing company.
Image When Applied
Usually, when applying labels to bottle products, two labels are required: a front label (brand) and a back label (ingredient list, etc.). However, one of the advantages of double-sided printed labels is that only one label is needed.
Here, we introduce an example of a beautiful double-sided printed label.
The Orienstella series gemma, provided by Ethical Beauty, which plans, manufactures, and sells cosmetics, uses double-sided printed labels. This product is a genuine organic product that meets the standards of Japan’s first COSMOS organic certification.
The label applied to this product is monochrome on the front, with an elegant design using embossing. Furthermore, when looking at the back of the bottle (the adhesive side of the front seal), a botanical world unfolds, making it highly appealing and enticing to use.
We have also put a lot of thought into the seal material. Since this product is used around water, we chose Yupo 110μ film. Normally, it is 80μ, but we chose 110μ to emphasize the embossing.
To prevent the black on the front from showing through and affecting the color printing on the adhesive side, we laminated high-opacity silver foil paper in between. In other words, we laminated three materials: Yupo 110μ, silver foil paper, and transparent PET 25μ.
Minimum Order Quantity for Double-Sided Printed Label
Our minimum order quantity for double-sided labels is 3,000 pieces. Most orders range from 5,000 to 20,000 pieces. Occasionally, we receive inquiries for small lots, such as 500 or 1,000 pieces, but due to the high unit cost for small quantities, we have not fulfilled such orders. Please request a quote for 3,000 pieces or more.
Conclusion
Double-sided printed labels are suitable for transparent bottles. Since they involve additional materials and processing elements, the cost is slightly higher than regular labels. Therefore, the minimum order quantity is 3,000 pieces.
While product labels are often targeted for cost reduction, some manufacturers prioritize quality and processing. Consider which approach would better convey a sense of quality to consumers.
