Consultation Details
This project involved creating a label for Hakuba Craft. They requested a die-cut label design with the outer 1mm edge highlighted in silver gloss. They wanted to express uniqueness by having labels not only on the bottle body but also on the neck. Additionally, since the product is mass-produced regularly, they asked for proposals on cost-saving methods.
Our Proposal
We proposed using silver gloss foil as the material. For the printing, white was printed twice on all areas except for the outer 1mm, thereby reducing costs compared to reproducing the silver foil effect. The other colors were printed according to the PANTONE instructions provided. As the stickers are applied by hand, they were delivered as sheet-cut labels. The presence of a neck label gives the product an impression of being manufactured with expertise.

Nagano Prefecture’s Hakuba is located in the Northern Alps, a region opened during the Meiji era and renowned for its majestic mountain ridges. This area experienced significant growth as an ideal destination for mountain tourism—such as climbing and skiing—from the Taisho to the Showa period. In 1998, Hakuba received worldwide attention as the host area for the Nagano Winter Olympics, captivating skiers from around the globe. Although human activities can never be perfectly suited to such an environment, Hakuba offers breathtaking vistas and a rich, diverse natural landscape that cannot be found in urban areas. The Hakuba Sanzan, with elevations around 3000m, is one of Japan’s hundred famous mountains, and its harsh yet unique conditions nurture rare alpine plants.
We craft our own craft beer in Hakuba, a place defined by its severe yet bountiful natural climate. Here, we use pristine natural water, refined by the towering mountains unique to this region, to create beverages that truly refresh the soul.
