Consultation Details
This project involved creating labels for candy cases. The labels feature an irregular shape and also serve as a seal for the cap. They requested washi paper as the material. This order included three items, and the labels will be applied by hand.
Our Proposal
The material was selected from our samples. Among the three types, “Yamato Tachibana” was chosen as “Washi Mujei,” while “Jabara” and “Lemongrass” were decided as “Washi Housho.” Washi Housho is characterized by its thin gray stripes. The number of colors used was 3 to 4 specialty colors based on PANTONE and DIC. Although printing on washi may result in slight ink bleed, this actually enhances the texture. As the labels are applied by hand, they were delivered in sheet form.

Client: Nara Bonbon
The shape of our candy temari is inspired by kemari—a traditional ball game toy for girls said to have been passed down since the Nara period—reflecting our desire to showcase the finest qualities of Nara.
Every piece of candy is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans.
We blend sugar with mizu-ame and simmer the mixture, then add freeze-dried natural ingredients; even slight variations in conditions can alter the final result.
Temperature, humidity, and season—it's the subtle adjustments, precise blends, and creative techniques known only to our artisans that give birth to "Nara Bonbon."
Because they are handmade, no two pieces are exactly alike. Enjoy the warm, comforting texture.
