We created embossed label samples

Embossing is a process that creates raised and recessed designs on the surface of the material by applying pressure. This technique can be applied to logos and text designs, making it a popular special process for product labels.

For more details, please refer to "Embossed Stickers: Stand Out with a Higher-Class Impression!".

Embossing is not suitable for detailed illustrations. If the lines are too thin or the design is too small, the paper cannot fit into the grooves of the plate even under pressure.

To address common questions like "What is the minimum font size?" and "What is the appropriate line thickness?" as well as the need to visually confirm the embossed design, we created sample images of embossed labels.

Of course, they are free. Please use them when designing.

There are 9 Types of Sample Materials

Embossing varies in prominence depending on the material, so we created samples with the following nine types. These samples are useful for comparing the embossed effects on different materials.

Embossing is Less Noticeable on Film Materials

Embossing is better suited to paper materials due to the ability to create raised and recessed textures. Conversely, film materials are less suitable.

For example, origami paper holds its creases well and maintains its folded shape. In contrast, film materials tend to revert to their original shape due to their resilience.

This is why embossing does not work well on film materials.

Embossing Stands Out More on Silver or Gold

Embossing stands out more on silver and gold foil paper because the raised edges are more pronounced. On white materials, the shadows are less noticeable, making the embossing appear weaker.

On the other hand, white paper tends to produce a subtler embossed effect.

Comparing silver foil and high-quality paper shows the difference in the embossed effect. (The photo above shows silver foil on the left and high-quality paper on the right.)

For white papers like washi or high-quality paper, mirror coat stands out more.
For white paper, laminating the paper to increase thickness can enhance the embossed effect.

Since it can be difficult to convey through text and images, please check the samples for yourself.
